Information:
Since its inception in the year 2007, the Department of English, offers courses of English for BA, B.Com., B.Sc. and prospective MA in English (already notified and codal formalities initialization of the same are underway).
Objective:
In a bid to open mental vistas of the students and give a splendid display to their faculties, the department aims at honing four basic skills i.e. reading skills, writing skills, listening skills and speaking skills which are indispensable for language acquisition. The equal emphasis, of course, is laid on grammar, the cornerstone of language study, besides quality teaching of literary texts.
Courses/Curriculum:
The various genres of literature, which are a part of curriculum, aim at giving insights into the fact that how literature vis-à-vis society offer a mirror to each other and how intangible is beautifully woven into tangible through linguistic subtleties.
Learning Outcome:
The learning outcome of various courses includes a heightened awareness of correct use of language, to communicate effectively besides creative thinking, cognitive skills, comprehension, interpretation and evaluation of literary texts.

A well equipped language lab with multi-media audio-visual systems and computers to engage the students in hands-on experience and enable them improve language efficiency through technical tools in addition to a huge store house of books and journals of great repute. Group discussions, seminars, Mock interactive sessions, extempore, class presentations etc. are seminal extra-curricular assets of the department.

The faculty of department is well qualified and opts student-oriented approach for content delivery. The pedagogical tactics are more inclusive and in sync with the changing needs, interests and competencies of students.
